Synopsis

(The rating just came out, and it will gradually rise!)

In Africa, never trust a fellow Chinese person. Especially not Chen Mo's grinning great-uncle, who sold him to an illegal mine for a bottle of water. His passport was confiscated, and he became the lowest of the low, a laborer.

Everyone thought he was a stammering coward who would only duck his head when the foreman whipped him. Nobody knew that every day this geology master's degree holder from a top Chinese university spent laboring underground, he was using his footsteps to map the outline of the colossal gold deposit beneath him. Then disaster struck. He drew an escape route and saved the chief's nephew, earning himself an abandoned “waste mine” that nobody wanted.

Overnight, the waste mine became a gold mine.

Wang Jianguo, a powerful chamber of commerce tycoon, smiled over his teacup, hiding a blade behind his grin. “In Africa, gold is easy to dig up. Staying alive isn't.” Chen Mo bowed and scraped as he bought Wang's discarded equipment, then turned around and signed an international deal in five languages at a banquet, announcing the estimated reserves on the spot: enough to mine for thirty years. The entire room fell silent. Wang Jianguo's teacup shattered on the floor.

Su Ya, a doctor with the medical team, had once cleaned and stitched his wounds, telling him, “Don't risk your life for your wages.” She had no idea that this lowly laborer was about to turn the entire African mining industry upside down in just one year. Nor could she have imagined that he would donate a hospital named after her and make the boldest confession imaginable in front of a thousand tribespeople.

He's a geologist, a ruthless player in the business world, and a brother to the tribe. Playing the fool is his deadliest weapon.
