Great Ming: I Built Infrastructure, but Old Zhu Thought I Was Cultivating Immortality

At the end of the Yuan dynasty, Zhu Chongba was so hungry he could barely see straight. He collapsed in a dilapidated temple, thinking he was about to die, when a strange, enticing fragrance reached him.

He looked up to see a short-haired immortal conjure a magical treasure called "self-heating rice" out of thin air. With a flick of his finger, it boiled without a flame!

Shen Yizhou watched the stunned Zhu Chongba and casually tossed him a bottle of cola. "Drink this immortal dew and follow me. I'll make sure you become emperor."

From then on, the Ming dynasty took a sharp turn into the extraordinary.

At the Battle of Poyang Lake, Chen Youliang watched steam-powered ironclad ships charge toward him and Gatling-wielding Bodhisattvas rain fire from the sky. He howled in despair, "Zhu Chongba, you have no honor! You actually summoned immortals to fight for you!"

In the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hongwu Emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang, rubbed his hands together and sidled up to Shen Yizhou with a fawning smile. "Immortal Master, the desert has already been pacified. How about letting me, your old Zhu, take a ride on that 'Cloud-Riding Airship' that can travel a thousand li in a day?"
