You Hired Me as an Assistant, but the Superstar Dragged Me Off to Get a Marriage License

Gu Yi was reborn.

In his previous life, he was an overworked wage slave who died from exhaustion. Reborn in 2009, he now holds Bitcoin and countless patents, and commands trillions in assets. All he wants is to become a top-tier deadbeat who can coast through life.

Who could have guessed that his childhood friend, national goddess Lin Qianqian, would fake morning sickness in public to escape casting couch demands and a sky-high breach-of-contract fee, then plead with him through tears: “Gu Yi, help me just this once. The baby is yours!”

To protect his carefree life, Gu Yi is forced to take a job as her assistant, becoming the “kept man” mocked by the entire internet.

From then on, the entertainment industry takes a bizarre turn:

On variety shows, Lin Qianqian struggles in the mud while Gu Yi sips chilled Lafite beneath a parasol.

On set, the director berates Lin Qianqian for her poor acting. The next second, Gu Yi takes off his sleep mask. “You’re so noisy. I bought this production company. Director, you’re fired.”

Haters flood the comments: “What can Gu Yi do besides live off a woman?”

Then one day, the global rich list is updated, and the man holding up Lin Qianqian’s train is right at the top!

The whole internet goes wild: “We told you to be her assistant! Who said you could buy the entire entertainment industry?!”
