The Great Xi's Greatest Artisan

In the thirty-fifth year of Chengning under the Great Xi dynasty, the river gates were on the verge of collapse, military equipment was going missing, and official artifacts kept being "accidentally" damaged!

Gu Chen, a modern mechanical repairman, transmigrates into the body of an apprentice convict artisan, someone anyone can beat and who could be forced to take the blame and die at any moment!

He possesses the "Record of Remaining Time": by practicing with his own hands, he can spend his remaining time to master skills at an accelerated rate, from listening to spinning wheels to diagnose damage, to precision copperwork and hydraulic inspections!

A strange sound lets him identify a replaced copper gear, but he discovers that someone deliberately set the water clock three quarters of an hour fast!

Evidence tampering, an attempt on his life, military equipment leaving the city: every clue points to the wrongful conviction of his father in a water-control case years ago!

Others investigate cases through witness statements. He only needs to look at the fractures and wear marks!

From convict artisan's apprentice to the greatest artisan under heaven, Gu Chen must repair more than mechanisms. He must save the crumbling Great Xi!

But the eyes hidden behind the court have already set their sights on him...

...When every clue points deep into the court, Gu Chen picks up his small hammer and steps onto the public inspection platform!

As a convict artisan, he will examine the state's official artifacts; with an ordinary man's hands, he will forge the Great Xi anew!
