(An early work, conceived in a fit of inspiration, written to practice my prose and pacing.)
[Western Fantasy+No Romance for the Male Lead+Everyday Life+Raising an Apprentice+Dark Humor+Invincible+Lighthearted Comfort Read+Semi-Original Setting+Long-Lived Race]
He was just an ordinary British exchange student, until one day he died suddenly and transmigrated as a long-lived being in another world: an elf.
Xie Yan was delighted.
Living a long time was great. It was really, really great.
Six hundred years later, a lonely outsider in another world came across a child.
After washing the child up, he realized they looked just like the great demon he had personally killed not long ago!
But the child had lost their memory.
As time went on, the Black Tower, long thought destroyed, returned? The Giant Kingdom planned to restore its former glory? Who exactly was the Supreme God? What kind of potion could let someone break free from the ordinary and begin to advance?
Xie Yan: Something’s not right.
Now entering the stage:
The Morgan Kingdom’s royal mage, the second king of the Ghost Realm, an invincible elf who commands all the greatest magic, the strongest outsider in British history, the most despicable person in Eurasia...
Xie Yan: Let’s keep a low profile.
PS (Things to know before reading):
The male lead has no romantic pairing. His apprentice has a childhood sweetheart (pure love is unbeatable).
The male lead is **not a noble, righteous savior**. He’s sharp-tongued, has very murky moral boundaries, and is clear-eyed and coldly detached about life. He has some feelings, but not many.
The setting is semi-original, with the author’s own ideas added to a “sword and sorcery” world.
The male lead is nearly invincible from the start.
The apprentice is the one who gets a growth arc (the classic underdog who grows stronger and levels up).
Plot-driven, plot-driven, plot-driven!
That’s important enough to say three times.
Very comfortable to read! I read it while eating, but if you want to read cool articles, I don't recommend it.
I feel that the protagonist is a more cautious and casual person. The fight scenes I have seen so far are relatively short, but they are very powerful. Any more would feel a bit cumbersome, but less is the right benefit.
Although he was misunderstood by others as a waste elf, but well, this kind of pretense is very stylish, right. Ouch, I really like this kind of leisurely and slow Western fantasy daily novels.
After watching Provoking QWQ, it was very interesting - I felt that the Black Tower was not particularly strong, but I couldn't deal with it, just like there were cockroaches in my house but I couldn't kill them.
The male protagonist is gentle on the surface but venomous on the inside, with a bad taste. It is not a traditional adventure story. It is similar to a unit dungeon. There is a main line running through all dungeons. The villain's motives are also reasonable. The male protagonist is indeed invincible and can be killed instantly.
I couldn't understand the comments that said he was greasy, and I couldn't understand that he was scared. I didn't see the description of him being cowardly, and the male protagonist didn't suppress anyone. Isn't it because he didn't want him to learn magic because of his bond with his apprentice?
Moreover, the three-dimensional micro-group portraits with distinct characters are well written.
The author is very clever
It's really difficult to comment on this writing. It makes the protagonist look like a middle-aged greasy man who likes to preach. He is afraid of this and that when he does it. He also likes to suppress others. Am I looking at an elf with a ceiling of combat power who has lived for 700 years? If the protagonist's personality does not change, no one will read this article.
I feel like the plot develops quite quickly, and there are a lot of plot twists. It's a pretty enjoyable book😋
