I Sent You Undercover, So Why Did You Take Down the Whole Family?

On his eighteenth birthday, his grandfather gives him a solid-gold AK, while his father kidnaps the leader of a rival gang. The whole family watches eagerly as the “heir to the underworld” comes of age.

But Lin Yan looks at the admission letter to the top police academy he has just received, his legs trembling.

Born into a family whose first three generations were all international criminals, he has somehow ended up bound to the Crime Buster System. Catching criminals makes him stronger, while doing anything evil will kill him on the spot!

Desperate to avoid being thrown into the river by his father, he comes up with a quick excuse: “Dad, times have changed. I’m going undercover in the enemy camp to work as a mole for our family!”

His father is moved to tears and sends him off to school that very night.

From then on, Lin Yan is an exemplary cadet at police academy by day, and spends his nights masked up, ruthlessly cracking down on crime in his family’s own territory.

Several years later, the country’s largest gang is wiped out, and the police hold a grand awards ceremony.

His father, handcuffed, looks at the chief superintendent onstage, his chest covered in first-class service medals, and breaks down sobbing:

“Son, I told you to go undercover, and you went and took down the whole family?!”
