Fake PhD Returned from Abroad, The Nation Begs Me to Build Tanks!

[Heavy Industry Powerhouse + Impostor Big Shot + Patriotic Feel-Good Story + Strengthening the Nation Through Technology]

After his soul transmigrates into 1960, Lu Jianguo is left reeling. The original owner is a streetwise drifter who bought a fake diploma to come back to China and scrape by. But the moment Lu steps off the train, tens of thousands of factory workers pin their only hope on him and haul him off to repair a massive hydraulic press whose main shaft has seized up.

Faced with a table full of indecipherable Russian documents, he can’t read a word. He even holds the blueprints upside down in front of everyone. Just as he is about to be exposed and shot, the Industrial Attribute System activates with a bang: simply touching an object lets him imbue it with an attribute.

Lu slaps the blueprints onto the table and snorts, “I was looking at them upside down on purpose. Don’t let the Bear Country’s way of thinking box you in!” He hefts a twelve-pound sledgehammer and activates Material Restoration, fixing the mechanical behemoth that has been out of commission for three months with a single blow.

The factory’s veteran workers are red-eyed with emotion and treat him like a god on the spot. The factory director grips his hand tightly. “Engineer Lu, you’re a peerless national treasure. We’re counting on you to build a new-generation main battle tank engine from scratch in 180 days!”

Looking at the System’s nearly empty balance, Lu Jianguo’s legs tremble. “Wait, I haven’t even figured out how to fix a tractor. If I keep pretending, are you going to ask me to build an aircraft carrier next?”
