One Pair of Scissors, and Her Military Officer Husband Obediently Takes It Off

In the 1970s, Duan Yunteng was the most ruthless, stone-faced commanding officer in the compound. After a fragment grazed the base of his thigh, he went to the town clinic to have it removed without telling anyone.

But when the curtain was pulled back, the surgeon turned out to be Shen Han, a cool, expressionless village doctor who had just been sent back to the countryside after her stepsister stole her job.

Shen Han held up a pair of scissors without changing expression. “Take off your pants and spread your legs.”

Duan Yunteng’s eyes reddened as he clamped his legs shut. For the first time in his life, he knew what it felt like to be completely at someone’s mercy.

A month later, his stepsister returned to the village with her city-cadre husband, intent on showing off and trampling Shen Han underfoot.

Instead, a military jeep pulled up at the village entrance. The commanding officer Duan Yunteng, a man even provincial leaders treated with respect, was carefully carrying Shen Han’s medical bag, his voice meek. “Wife, it’s time to change the dressing there. How about we go inside and take off your pants?”
