Harry Potter: One Twist of the Ring Threw the Whole School into Chaos

My name is Ivy Rosier White. My father is Bai Heng. When he was young, no one in the Eastern world of sorcery dared cross him, but he later retired from it. My mother is the eldest daughter of the Rosier Family and a former deputy director of the Ministry of Magic. She severed ties with her entire family to marry my father. I inherited her looks: black hair and blue eyes, a combination unique to all of Hogwarts. When I was eleven, my father gave me a silver ring. “It’s been waiting for you.” I turned it, and a voice came from inside. “You finally turned me.” His name is Donnell. He has amnesia and remembers only one thing: he has to accompany someone for seven years. I asked him who he was waiting for. He said, “...You.” He’s the best at predicting things of anyone I’ve ever met. He knew Malfoy’s next words would be “You did that on purpose,” so I said it before he could. Malfoy glared at me for three seconds. He knew Filch would turn the corner in ten seconds. I’d just hidden when the light shone right over me. He can make me invisible: hold your breath for three seconds, and I disappear right under everyone’s noses. He can also scout ahead: “The classroom on the left is empty. You can go around this way and mess with him.” For seven years, he helped me do every rotten thing imaginable. I argued with Draco Malfoy in the corridor, befriended Harry Potter, stared at Cedric until he stopped smiling, competed with the Weasley Twins to see who was crazier, knocked over Oliver Wood’s broom, and told Blaise Zabini in a corner of the library, “You’re more interesting when you’re not talking.” I thought I was here to go to school. Only later did I realize that the curve on the inside of the ring was a countdown. It ran out during my seventh year, at the Battle of Hogwarts. Four words were written on it. He had waited a long time for me to say them.
