You Want Me to Be a Saint? Why Are You Feeding Zombies in the Apocalypse?

The apocalypse arrives, and the whole class is trapped in the cafeteria.

I awaken the “God-Tier Saintly Mother System.” Whenever I give someone food, the System returns ten times as much and increases my combat power.

The System keeps nudging me: “Host, hurry and give your only piece of bread to the school beauty! Make her feel so grateful she’ll never forget you!”

I look at the zombies outside, then at the school beauty, and instead shove the bread into the mouth of a stray dog that’s half infected.

The System freaks out: “Warning! The Host is giving supplies to a non-human. This does not count as saintly benevolence...”

Before it can finish, the stray dog eats the bread and wags its tail at me.

The System panel flashes: “Ding! Host has fed a mutated zombie dog. Tenfold return: one ton of dog food, zombie dog loyalty +100, and one dose of rabies antibodies!”

I get it. If I play the saint for humans, chances are they’ll stab me in the back. If I play the saint for monsters, I can become a god!

Later, while everyone else struggles to survive the apocalypse and watches out for their fellow humans,

I push a cart of meat injected with water straight into the Zombie King’s lair, shove a hunk into his mouth, and say tenderly, “Eat up. Look how skinny you are.”

The Zombie King is so moved that tears roll down his murky face.

The System completely breaks down: “Ding! Tenfold return... Host, you absolute menace! You’ve cleaned out the System storage! Couldn’t you have fed at least one person?!”
