Bright Sword: The Deputy Regiment Commander Defects, and Old Li Loves It

Li Yunlong had just returned to take command of the Independent Regiment when he heard that headquarters had assigned him a deputy commander who had only just defected from the Nationalist Army. Furious, he smashed his wine bowl on the spot.

“Why does he get to be my deputy commander just because he surrendered? Can he even shoot? Does he know how to fight a war?”

The next second,

Deputy Commander Shen Linyuan drove dozens of trucks loaded with supplies into the camp.

“Old Li, I heard the Independent Regiment is short on equipment. I’ve got five hundred German submachine guns, a hundred thousand rounds of ammunition, fifty thousand jin of fine flour, and two tons of canned beef. Is that enough?”

Li Yunlong’s mouth practically watered. He threw his arms around Shen Linyuan.

“Oh, my dear Brother Shen! You’re like a real brother to me! From now on, you call the shots in the Independent Regiment!”

Modern young man Shen Linyuan opens a portal between two worlds and unexpectedly discovers that his great-grandfather in 1939 was none other than Shen Xiaoyu, a batman serving under Li Yunlong.

Determined to look after his great-grandfather, Shen Linyuan makes an immediate decision: defect with the goods!

And so, the whole situation in northwestern Shanxi changes beyond recognition.

Yamamoto Kazuki: “Baka! Why does every member of the Eighth Route Army’s special forces have night-vision goggles and silencers?”

Shinozuka Yoshio: “Can someone tell me how a Dongfeng missile sent Taiyuan’s city walls flying?”

Watching a modern steel tide descend from the skies, Old Li grins from ear to ear.

“Brother Shen, where are we fighting today? How about heading straight to Tokyo for a meal?”
