Perfect Gaokao Score, and I Apply to a Corpse-Driving University

Lin Fan scored a perfect mark on the college entrance exam. While filling out his application at an internet cafe, the computer suddenly went black, and a sinister, blood-red pop-up appeared: “Western Hunan University of Corpse Driving, a century-old institution, recruiting one special student. Meals, room and board, and job placement included. Five insurances and housing fund, ghost marriage and coffin provided.” [Our signature programs: Ancient Corpse Driving, Yin House Feng Shui, Soul-Calming and Spirit-Guiding, Ancient Tomb Exploration, Talismans for Suppressing Evil] Lin Fan thought the computer had caught a virus and clicked the X in the upper-right corner. The next second, his college entrance exam file vanished completely from the application system. Just as everyone began to suspect that someone had impersonated Lin Fan, a ghostly bus from Western Hunan, decorated with white lanterns, pulled up beside him. The doors opened, and a young woman from the Miao region stepped out in silver ornaments and traditional clothing. She handed him an admission letter. “Congratulations, Lin Fan. You’ve been admitted to our Ancient Corpse Driving program. Please report within three days, or compulsory enrollment procedures will be initiated.” Lin Fan: “Miss, can I choose not to go?” The Miao girl smiled. “Our employment rate is one hundred percent. Most importantly, there are lots and lots of pretty upperclasswomen at our university!” “One more thing, student: in our line of work, you have to dig up your own clients.”
