The entire third-year acting class at the Drama Academy went on a disastrous team-building trip, and after a high-speed train accident, they all transmigrated into an angst-filled quick transmigration System!
The System laid down the rules: they had to complete the full cycle of physical and emotional abuse, despair, a perfect fake death, and a final pursuit of the husband worthy of a funeral pyre. Only by raising the native heroine’s remorse to 90% could they clear the mission. If anyone was caught acting out of character, the whole class would be erased on the spot!
The most handsome student in the department and a dedicated method actor, Lin Fan, was forcibly bound by the System to the role of the heroine’s exclusive abuse-target male lead, thanks to his heartbreakingly battered good looks.
In public, he was a lovesick stand-in, pathetically devoted and obsessively in love, letting others trample all over him without complaint. Through tearful restraint, coughing up blood on the brink of death, and utter despair, every scene of torment was a textbook performance, cementing his tragic role as the man whose love was misplaced.
Behind the scenes, the class group chat was lighting up with a live commentary:
Lin Fan grumbled furiously: “That slap just now nearly landed for real! My back teeth are about to shatter!”
The PE rep, playing a stoic bodyguard, secretly slipped him an energy bar: “Sorry, sorry! I couldn’t hold back my martial arts training!”
The top student playing a doctor frantically rewrote medical records to pile on more misery. The class monitor, playing a wicked supporting actress, kept coming up with new ways to pick fake fights. A rich classmate cut off business deals, a banking tycoon froze the funds, the police team handled the cleanup, and the class belle’s team delivered the finishing blows…
While everyone else transmigrated into a book and endured their angsty romance alone, Lin Fan had the whole top-notch production crew at his side, planning everything through the night!
The once haughty female lead finally came to her senses, was consumed by remorse, and plunged headlong into the ultimate, irreversible pursuit of her husband worthy of a funeral pyre.
Lin Fan: “I’m a professional at taking hits for the role. I’ll sit back and wait for the heroine to regret it. The whole class is backing me up, and this funeral pyre has to burn!”
[Ensemble cast of drama queens + unconventional angst romance + goofy, satisfying sweetness + ultimate regret and pursuit + the whole production crew powers up to crush the villains]
I have read three books by the author. The ideas and plots are quite interesting, but I don't know why they are always lukewarm.
