Wooden Fish Sends Autumn

【Childhood friends + everyday System antics + a touch of bittersweet romance + one heroine! + a happy ending with no heartbreak】 When he was nine, a wooden fish System appeared in Jiang Qiu’s mind. There was no affection meter and no glimpse into the future, only endless daily missions and strange rewards. Sometimes he got a math formula halfway through a problem, sometimes a tangled red string, and sometimes a mortifying punishment that made him dance in public. The target of every mission was always the same person: Huang Yuyu from the class next door. A cool, naturally absent-minded top student, she always outscored him and even grew taller faster than he did. He saved up to buy her a fountain pen, while she quietly accommodated his height by lowering her head to talk to him. He tried with all his might to grow taller and catch up, while she always tilted her umbrella toward him when they walked together. They were both awkward and neither said a word. It took a wooden fish between them to do all the talking. From sitting together in third grade to the height difference after they were assigned to different classes in middle school, and then studying side by side during evening prep in high school... Nine years, one red string, one wooden fish. He thought she would never know about the things the System forced him to do. She thought he would never discover the feelings she had hidden for so many years. “I had to hear the wooden fish strike three thousand times before I dared admit that I liked you.”
