Jiang Cheng transmigrates into a book as a cannon-fodder character. She thinks she’s just a stepping stone, destined to bow out as soon as the original heroine appears, hopefully with time to ship a couple on the way.
Who knew the plot would go completely off the rails!
Weren’t the male and female leads supposed to meet for the first time in bed?
Then what’s she doing pinned against a floor-to-ceiling window?
Wasn’t Pei Yan supposed to be a cold, untouchable flower who abstained from desire?
Then who is this man locking her in his arms night after night to steal kisses, his eyes bloodshot like a wolf’s?
“Mr. Pei, that’s not how the script goes!”
Jiang Cheng tries to struggle, but the man bites the back of her neck, his voice low and dangerous:
“Forget the script. I’m your leading man now.”
So much for a cannon-fodder comeback. How did she end up kept by the male lead, with even her breath steeped in his scent?
Jiang Cheng: I can’t make heads or tails of this book anymore!
[Bonus Scene]
Jiang Cheng: Weren’t they supposed to fall in love at first sight in bed?
Pei Yan: What’s the rush? We’re in bed right now.
Jiang Cheng: ...That’s not the same thing!
