[Chinese Martial Arts] + [Republican Era] + [Decisive and Ruthless] + [System] + [Classic of Mountains and Seas]
Lin Du, a modern-day master of Bajiquan, is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Burdened with a million-yuan debt, he has barely a month to live.
On the brink of death, his ancestral jade pendant lights up, and he transmigrates to the British Concession in Tianjin in 1926!
He binds himself to a mission from the Great Luo Heavens. If he can become Tianjin's top fighter, he can exchange his reward for a divine medicine that will cure his illness!
But from the start, his lungs are damaged, he coughs blood, and his bones and energy are weak. The gamblers all sneer at him as a consumptive.
The Hongmen puts on the pressure, gangs surround him, and every step in the iron-cage death matches threatens his life. Everyone bets he'll die in the ring!
But no one knows that beneath his dying, broken body lies a deadly Bajiquan forged in the crucible of desperation!
If his shoulder shatters and his bones break, he'll set them and fight again.
If his lungs bleed, he'll swallow medicine and grit his teeth!
He makes his broken body a blade and his life a wager, breaking brute force with one punch and bringing Tianjin to heel with the next!
The doctors say my life is over? Then I'll defy fate in the ring!
The world mocks me as sick and weak? Then I'll fight my way through Tianjin!
So what if they're foreigners? I'll kill every one I meet!
From a lowly fighter in an iron cage in the concession to the pinnacle of Chinese martial arts in Republican-era China, he'll claim the title of Tianjin's top fighter and defy fate!
A warrior with fists shall tread across the heavens.
