The supernatural returns, and the rules of the world collapse.
Vengeful ghosts roam among the living, killing according to their own rules. They cannot be killed or destroyed; only gold can contain them, and only other ghosts can fight them.
Lin Mo, a college student at Nanzhou University, is accidentally caught up in a haunted staircase incident. He escapes death by controlling the “Looping Ghost,” but in doing so, he glimpses the deadliest flaw in the supernatural: no matter how powerful a supernatural rule is, once trapped in a self-referential logical loop, it will stall like a broken clock, forever stuck in an endless cycle and unable to kill again.
This is a “crash,” the only way to truly lock down the supernatural.
From low-level ghosts in a local bureau’s files to S-rank ghost domains capable of swallowing cities; from a fugitive designated a Level One risk by headquarters to a lone wanderer venturing into the supernatural frontier. Lin Mo steps across his teammates’ corpses, bearing the cost of his own out-of-control revival. Using seven S-rank nodes as nails and his own consciousness as an anchor, he constructs a rule loop that spans the globe.
When every ghost comes to a halt at once, and the chill drains from the human world,
he remains forever in the depths of an infinite loop of rules, becoming the last line of defense in the human world, unknown to all.
