The Day Her White Moonlight Posted on Moments, She Decided Not to Get Back Together

On the day they divorced, Zhou Yiheng’s first love took photos in the mansion he had bought for her and captioned them, “After all this time, it’s still you.” He assumed his ex-wife, Chen Shuyan, would cry and make a scene, then wait for him to come back, just as she always had. But she calmly packed up and left, changed her phone number, and never looked back as she set off to build a life of her own: first prize in the provincial medical records coding competition, deputy director of her department, and a man who truly cherished her.

He began desperately trying to win her back. His flowers were thrown away, his bags returned, his disguise as a repairman got him reported to the police, and his late-night stakeouts earned him a restraining order. At last, he saw through the rose-colored illusion of his “first love,” but Chen Shuyan was already wearing a wedding dress made for her by someone else. He chased her until he realized she no longer cared. He spent five years tending the pothos she had forgotten to take with her, only to hear her say, “Look ahead. Don’t turn back.”

Those who see clearly can always seize happiness. Those who remain trapped in the past can only spend their lives with regrets. Once you lose some people, you can never get them back.
