After divorcing, children's TV director Xia Donghai returns to China with his son Xia Yu to pursue his career, reuniting with his daughter Xia Xue, who grew up in China. Later, Xia Donghai marries Liu Mei, the head nurse at a hospital. Liu Mei is also divorced and lives alone with her son, Liu Xing. In this reconstituted family of five, both parents care deeply about the children's healthy development. But they have different approaches to parenting, and the kids are all quite mischievous, leading to plenty of stories that are both hilarious and thought-provoking.
