No Voice Messages in the Moms' Group

Modern-day city life, in the aging residential complex known as Happy Home.

Lin Wan thought the mothers' group chat that came alive late at night was just an ordinary neighborhood support group, until one strange rule after another started appearing: No voice messages. Don't trust calls from teachers. Don't let your children show their faces. Don't rate your children. Don't believe missing-person notices...

Behind the rules were no all-powerful monsters, only stolen voices, rewritten records, photos spreading out of control, and malice lurking in the System and in people's hearts.

As more and more mothers and children are drawn in, Lin Wan must figure out what is real amid a flood of information she can't trust, protect the children, and begin searching again for her own mother, who disappeared years ago.

Some rules are meant to scare you. Others, however, are there to save your life.
