Ghost Stories Descend Across the World, and I Write Evil Spirits to Save My Life!

[Rule-based horror + female screenwriter + behind-the-scenes scheming + army of evil spirits + no romance]

At midnight, one hundred cities around the world simultaneously turn into horror-game instances.

The Red Shoes Kindergarten. The Nonexistent Thirteenth Floor. The Last Bus at Four in the Morning...

To her horror, the screenwriter Lin Qi realizes that every instance comes from a script she once abandoned.

Even worse, she’s the only one who knows how to clear them.

When the outside world accuses her of being the “disaster’s creator,” Lin Qi doesn’t explain. She simply picks up her pen again and writes a line on the page:

“When an unkillable monster appears in an instance, a stronger evil spirit will descend.”

The next second, the deleted red-clad ghost from her script tears open the sky and swallows the horror Boss in one bite.

From then on, while everyone else enters the instances to fight for their lives, Lin Qi hides in a safehouse, frantically writing.

A ghost bride, a paper effigy general, a faceless doctor...

The more evil spirits she writes, the better humanity’s odds of survival.

But every time she creates a ghost, she loses a memory.

Until the final instance opens and Lin Qi finds a dusty script in the Boss room. The title page reads:

“Author Lin Qi, died three years ago when the horror games began.”

And all the evil spirits she created are waiting for her to remember who she really is.
