Synopsis:

After the Panhuahai Reef case, Zhang Haixia is poisoned by “Duskgrass.” His legs are paralyzed, and his life hangs by a thread. Zhang Hailou searches all over Nanyang for the poison doctor Su Yueran, a woman with an even sharper tongue than his.

“Three days later, and he'll be dead.”

“Can you save him?”

“I can. On one condition: you become my test subject.”

So the sharp-tongued man meets someone even sharper, and a trial of medicine turns into an epic public humiliation. When the truth serum's side effects kick in, Zhang Hailou clings to Zhang Haixia's wheelchair and sobs for three hours, confessing everything from stealing candy at eight to his secrets at twenty-eight. Su Yueran takes notes beside him. “Go on. I'm taking notes.”

The treatment begins to work, but Su Yueran discovers an even more terrifying secret in Zhang Haixia's blood: someone has modified the Duskgrass to specifically hunt members of the Zhang family. More unsettling still, her knowledge of the poison goes far beyond what any “expert” should know. She carries a faded portrait with her, and the person in it looks remarkably like Zhang Haixia.

Meanwhile, the gentle, jade-like white moonlight is being ravaged by poison and trauma, and a dark, obsessive personality known as “Black Shrimp” is beginning to emerge.

“A Yan, stay by my side. Forever.”

As the truth is peeled back layer by layer, the poison doctor's sincerity, her partner's fixation, and the white moonlight's abyss will all be laid bare in this game of wits.
