The Midnight Paper Effigy Shop: The King of Hell Begs Me to Sell Him a Gatling Gun

Su Ze inherits a shabby paper-offering shop on the verge of bankruptcy. He’s so broke he can’t even afford instant noodles.

A top student in mechanical engineering, he vents his frustration by handcrafting a “paper Gatling gun” out of scrap cardboard and burning it for fun.

Who could have guessed that at midnight, the shop door would be kicked open!

Black and White Impermanence, dark circles under their eyes, excitedly wave a box of underworld treasures and a thousand years of yin-life at him:

“Boss Su! That Gatling gun you burned last night was incredible! It turned all the thousand-year-old evil spirits across the way into sieves!”

“Got any more in stock? If you can supply us, we’ll have your back in the Underworld from now on!”

Su Ze is stunned. Looking at the plans in his hands, he gets a bold idea.

Paper AKs, paper RPGs, paper heavy mechs, paper Dongfeng Express missiles...

While Taoist priests in the mortal world are still laboring to draw talismans and catch ghosts, Su Ze has already become the Underworld’s only military-industrial magnate, all thanks to modern weaponry.

The Ten Yama Kings clutch their registers of life and death and beg him: “Brother Su, sell us two more paper nuclear bombs! The abyssal rebels are almost wiped out!”
