The Entire Court Is Full of Keyboard Warriors, So I Led My Iron Cavalry to Conquer the Capital

“Warriors are uncouth. How could they possibly govern a nation?”

“Our Great Qian is a land of propriety and virtue. We should win people over with kindness! If we simply send the barbarians gold, silver, and the Four Books and Five Classics, they'll be so grateful they'll withdraw and return home!”

The Confucian scholars in court speak passionately.

The empress believes them without question. She dismisses Lu Yuan, the Prince of Beizhen, who has guarded the border for ten years and slain countless enemies, and replaces him with a scholar to defend the kingdom.

Lu Yuan offers no argument. He laughs three times, then withdraws to his fief in the desolate Liangzhou region with three thousand battered troops.

“If you think flowery words can repel the enemy, then I, your prince, will no longer defend this realm!”

He binds himself to the Heavy Firepower Infrastructure System!

A few months later, the scholar is struck dead by a cannonball while reciting poetry on the front lines. A million-strong barbarian army tramples into the heartland, leaving Great Qian devastated.

The empress kneels before the ancestral tablets, bowing her head and weeping blood. The officials wet themselves in terror, crying and begging the Prince of Beizhen to come out of retirement and save them.

But when they flee to Liangzhou in a panic, they are all stunned by what they see.

On top of an iron fortress towering into the clouds,

Lu Yuan smokes a cigar, with more than a thousand red-coated cannons lined up behind him and Gatling machine-gun emplacements armed to the teeth.

“You want me to come out of retirement?”

Lu Yuan sneers and waves his hand.

“Fire! Blast the barbarians and those book-bound fools into dust together!”
