[Period setting + heartwarming daily life + no-nonsense child-rearing + no angst + ensemble feel-good story]

Pei Jinlan was once a tough-as-nails female truck driver, famous for miles around in the 1970s. She was a woman of few words who could take on the world with a wrench.

When she hears that her precious daughter, far away at a research compound in Beijing, has given birth to triplets, and that her son-in-law is a lab nerd who can't even change a light bulb, Pei Jinlan packs her toolbox overnight, fires up her walk-behind tractor, and roars into Beijing!

Her daughter worries she'll cause trouble? Pei Jinlan turns around and welds the leaky pipes in the residential compound into works of art.

Her son-in-law is being ostracized by his colleagues? She repairs a scrapped jeep and takes him drifting around the compound!

The highly intelligent but helpless scientists are left staring in amazement, lining up to ask her to fix appliances and build furniture. With her no-nonsense knack for fixing anything and everything, Pei Jinlan becomes the whole compound's honorary mom!

Best of all, the triplets she raises can recite pi at three and swing a sledgehammer to repair planes at five. She turns the pampered young heirs in the compound into a squad of “wrench-wielding special forces”!
