Great Tang: The Gifted Baby

When he was three, he pointed at the palace clepsydra and said, “It’s inaccurate.”

The whole room burst out laughing. Only the young crown prince crouched down and stared at him for a long time.

An adult scientist transmigrates into the body of a toddler in the Tang dynasty. No System, no golden finger, just a head full of knowledge that doesn't belong in this era, and a three-year-old's body. In the Eastern Palace, Crown Prince Li Chengqian is his childhood friend and chief lovable fool. At the Chongwen Academy, he draws engineering plans with chubby hands right under his teacher's nose. In a shop in Chang'an, he perches on his father's shoulders and says in a baby voice, “Your paper is much too rough.”

No one takes a toddler seriously.

That is, until the winter of the fifteenth year of Zhenguan, when the crown prince presents the emperor with a stack of paper, thin as a cicada's wing and white as snow.

This is the story of an adult who spends more than a decade using a three-year-old's body to change the Tang dynasty, one step at a time. There is construction, romance, and the small, tender moments hidden within a grand age. Nothing happens overnight; this is the story of a long life.
