[No romance + metaphysics + supernatural + satisfying read + crime-solving]
Jiang Yao, an elder of the mystic arts, dies unexpectedly and wakes up as an eighteen-year-old girl with the same name, who is being oppressed by her family. She has just been hospitalized after someone framed her. Looking at her stepmother, who seems about her own age, Jiang Yao points to her shoulder. “There’s a little girl in a pink dress perched on your shoulder.”
After turning the household upside down, she is bundled out of the wealthy family by her biological father.
But that’s fine. With a skill to make a living from, she won’t have to struggle. The problem is, people in this era call it feudal superstition. The police even drag her to the station for a lecture, confiscating the three coins she uses for fortune-telling as suspected proceeds of crime.
When a police officer tries to correct her way of thinking, Jiang Yao replies without a care, “The wanted criminal you’re trying to catch is in the fried chicken shop outside right now. Wait any longer and you’ll really miss your chance.”
The officer disappears from right in front of her.
At first, people think Jiang Yao is a swindler. Eventually, they treat her like an honored guest, all hoping she’ll tell their fortunes. There’s just one thing that bothers her. Jiang Yao eyes the well-dressed people in front of her who claim to be her disciples’ disciples.
She has reason to suspect they just don’t want to pay her and are trying to get a free fortune-telling session. Otherwise, how could people from her Mystic Sect be living in such dire straits?
Watching the newly minted business tycoons and political bigwigs being tossed out, everyone is stunned, then grows even more excited. As expected of a big shot! She won’t bend to money!
That fortune reading was worth every penny!
It's so good and beautiful [Bird Eater] I haven't read Tomato for a long time. This is the first book I read in one go after re-reading it. It's just too little and I finished it in one go. It's not enough to read. [Please update] [Please update] [Please update]
I just finished reading Momo and came to read this book.
