Overgrown [GL]

Xu Lixia always thought that Shen Suiyu was simply a very good friend from her past.

They had known each other for years, then went their separate ways and gradually lost touch without either of them noticing. There had been no argument, no farewell, and neither had ever asked why the other no longer reached out like before.

All these years, they had kept each other's contact information.

Xu Lixia rarely posted updates, while Shen Suiyu posted now and then. Xu Lixia knew where she went, what she did, and when she returned to the city, but had never seriously asked how she was doing.

Until the night Xu Lixia was promoted to associate professor, when she saw Shen Suiyu at RIFF.

Only then did she realize that some relationships don't truly stay in the past just because no one mentions them anymore.

They remain attached to a contact you never deleted, to updates you sometimes lingered over, and to the red string around your wrist that you'd worn for years. You can't see them in daily life, but when that person stands before you again, they gradually take root in the orderly life you'd built.
