American Comics: Vought's Agent, Unfazed by Pressure

[Marvel] [The Boys] [Bad Seed] [Entertainment Above All] [Decisive and Ruthless]

The otherworld you imagine: childhood sweethearts by your side, heaven-sent talent from birth, villains all getting stupid and lining up to die, the protagonist’s plot armor covering every peril, and a smooth ride all the way to godhood.

But in the real otherworld, where superheroes, demons, and half-angels all mingle, it comes down to just two words:

“Everything’s here, bro. It’s all here.”

Heroes and villains battle it out above the city, and shockwaves topple apartment buildings. Your unpaid car and home loans, your peaceful life, all turn to dust in an instant.

Innocent bystanders and your closest friends and family become casualties of superpowered battles, dying horribly in conflicts that have nothing to do with where they stand.

Supervillains with blood on their hands and not an ounce of remorse may never face trial. They might simply get run over and smashed to pieces while crossing the street by a speedster high on drugs and out of control. And so-called heroes are not necessarily compassionate. The public is just a tool for them to chase clicks and prop up the entertainment industry. They look righteous and glamorous on camera, but disregard human life offscreen.

In this world ruled by strength, being weak is a crime. No one will pay for the suffering of ordinary people.

Luckily, I’m no helpless ant struggling beneath the feet of superheroes and supervillains.

World, begin!
