The Minister’s Orphaned Daughter Enters the Prince’s Household to Cure His Poison

Ten years ago, Shen Yan, director of the Imperial Medical Academy, was accused of altering a prescription and presenting the court with ineffective medicine, causing an epidemic to spread through the palace and the deaths of imperial heirs. The entire Shen family was condemned. The family's youngest daughter, Shen Tinglan, barely escaped. She changed her name to Lin Wan and hid among the common people, studying medicine and poison, waiting for the day she could return to the capital.

Ten years later, Xiao Zhaoye, the regent, suffered a relapse of his poisoning, and his manor offered a huge reward for a female physician willing to test the poison. In the notice, Lin Wan recognized the medicinal ingredient at the heart of the old case. Knowing that entering the manor meant almost certain death, she still volunteered. She had intended to use the regent's power to investigate the case, but discovered that the old poison in Xiao Zhaoye's body came from the same source as the palace epidemic. Xiao Zhaoye, meanwhile, saw through her lies, yet insisted on keeping her by his side.

One wanted to use a powerful minister to overturn a wrongful conviction; the other wanted to use a female physician to stay alive and investigate the poison. From testing one another to plotting side by side, they exposed the truth behind the Imperial Pharmacy, the Palace of Compassion and Tranquility, and the fabricated medicine case from ten years ago. She wanted to restore the name Shen Tinglan to the world. He wanted those who had destroyed her family to watch the old case be overturned with their own eyes.
