Lu Chenzhou, 29, is a young man in M City who has decided to lie flat. His greatest wish is to get away from his family's ancestral blacksmithing business.
To escape his dad's relentless calls, he buys a copy of The Daoist Secret Art of Summoning Lightning online, intending to call down lightning and cultivate immortality once and for all.
The lightning really does come, and it really does strike him out of existence.
When he wakes up, he finds that his soul has transmigrated into the futuristic online game Oracle Era, where he has become a level-zero stray black cat. Even worse, his real body is lying in the ICU in a vegetative state, and he can't go back.
Just as he prepares to reach the peak of cat life and coast along, blacksmith Wang Dachui from the beginner village picks him up and discovers that this cat can turn scrap metal into top-tier equipment with a single swipe of its paw.
From then on, Lu Chenzhou is forced to work by day as a “lucky-cat-brand enhancement machine,” while secretly figuring out how to make a fortune in the game with his new talent.
He only wants to prove one thing:
I, Lu Chenzhou, may have turned into a cat, but I will never become a blacksmith.
...Unless you feed me.
