Ancient Scroll: From the Start, a Good-for-Nothing Collector Buys a Shop in the Antique Market

Zhou Yi is a collector who loves studying Chinese classics and history, spending his days lost in fantasies. In reality, he's a good-for-nothing: middle-aged and still living off his parents, his business failed, his health is poor, and he drifts through life in a daze, penniless and destitute. He feels he's let down his children, parents, and partner. Then, by chance, he buys an ancient scroll, The Book of Changes, at an antiques market. This book is his golden finger: it can copy any knowledge directly into Zhou Yi's brain, and in critical moments, it can even let him cast spells. From then on, Zhou Yi's life goes into overdrive, and he gets everything he wants. He buys a house in the local antiques district and begins an astonishingly carefree life. Zhou Yi's childhood friend, Lin Xiaoya, has always believed in him. Even when he was at his most destitute, she quietly supported him as the woman who understood him best. After Zhou Yi makes it big, he cherishes Lin Xiaoya in every way, but sees her only as a childhood friend. Meanwhile, he spends his nights carousing, chasing women, and enjoying himself. Though Zhou Yi attains material comfort, he is spiritually empty. Only when he realizes that love and freedom of the soul are what he must pursue after gaining wealth does he truly begin his life anew.
