[Island military romance + marriage before love + dainty powerhouse + gossip in the military compound + seaside foraging and raising kids]

Everyone at the Yashou Island military base in Yazhou knew that the fearsome Huo Zhanqing had married a frail woman from Jiangnan.

She was out of breath after a few steps, and a gust of wind looked like it could snap her willow-thin waist. The wives in the compound all shook their heads: how could such a delicate flower handle that cold-faced brute?

Then, one day after a typhoon, a three-hundred-pound wild boar charged into the compound.

As everyone screamed, the “delicate flower,” Shen Nanxing, came forward with a willowy sway.

She coughed twice, grabbed the boar by its tusks with one hand, and flipped it over her shoulder. The boar foamed at the mouth on the spot!

Everyone in the compound: ??? Weren’t you supposed to be too weak to take care of yourself?!

They all said Battalion Commander Huo was mighty and merciless in public.

But late at night, beneath the compound wall, the pleas of a six-foot-two hulk could be heard: “Honey, I’ve broken three washboards on my knees already. Can I please sleep inside tonight instead of on the roof?”

Shen Nanxing rolled her eyes, then took her retired military dog to forage for giant lobsters, rode a dolphin to salvage a shipwreck, and somehow turned the impoverished island into a treasure trove overflowing with wealth!
