Reporting In, Commander: Your Wife Is Grilling Oysters on the Island Again

Ruan Mianmian, a three-Michelin-starred chef, wakes up in 1970 as a pitiful young woman framed by her stepmother and sent in place of her stepsister to a farm on a barren southern peninsula.

The peninsula borders deep mountains on one side and is surrounded by the sea on the other three. Conditions are so harsh that even cabbages won’t grow. Her stepmother’s family is just waiting to hear of her death.

Ruan Mianmian isn’t worried at all. She awakens a “God-Tier Gourmet Space”!

There are pheasants, hares, and rare mushrooms in the mountains, and oysters, sea cucumbers, and large yellow croakers in the sea? To Ruan Mianmian, they’re all top-grade ingredients!

No seasonings? Her space has every kind of oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, and tea.

From then on, life at the peninsula farm takes a startling turn. While everyone else chews on hard rations in the sea breeze,

Ruan Mianmian sets up a pot on the rocks and makes garlic-roasted oysters, sea urchin steamed eggs, and slow-braised free-range chicken…

The aroma travels for miles, making the young intellectuals and villagers at the farm drool. They bring work points and antiques to trade for a taste of her cooking.

Even the golden snub-nosed monkeys in the mountains and the sea otters by the shore are tempted by her food, lining up every day to bring her wild fruit and pearls.

The eccentric scientist sent down to the countryside, who lives in the cowshed next door, is also completely won over by a bowl of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall.

So he can eat her cooking every day, the scientist rolls up his sleeves and helps her build a generator and a brick house. In the end, he gives himself to her as well.
