From Roommates to Sweethearts

Bai Junchen’s mother ran off with another man years ago, and now his father is in the late stages of liver cancer.

In the final moments of his life, his father entrusted the helpless Bai Junchen to an old comrade who had once shared life and death with him.

“Don’t worry. If I have a meal, he won’t go hungry.” Those words marked the beginning of Bai Junchen’s life as a dependent in someone else’s home.

The old comrade felt deeply for Bai Junchen. After he got into the same school, he arranged for him to live in the off-campus apartment with his son, Han Tao, and repeatedly urged Han Tao to look after him.

But Han Tao had a terrible temper, as stubborn as a mule and unable to tolerate the slightest flaw.

At first, he found the quiet, timid “tagalong” unbearable. He picked fights, gave him the cold shoulder, and deliberately made things difficult for him, ignoring his father’s instructions completely.

Bai Junchen never talked back. He simply swallowed his grievances in silence.

As they spent more time together, Han Tao grew increasingly fond of Bai Junchen, gradually drawing Xiao Bai into his territory.

From then on, picking on him became protecting him, and roommates became lovers.

“Since you’ve decided to stay, you don’t get to leave just because you feel like it!”
