After Failing to Win Over the Heir, I Chose the Transmigrated Top Scholar

Discontinued! Don't read! 1v1, both leads transmigrate, each with their own mission. The main plot follows them working together to complete their missions and return home. They go from friends to confidants and comrades-in-arms, then become lovers. There are episodes of mutual scheming, a male supporting character who pursues his ex after losing her, love-triangle drama, political intrigue, and a heroine who grows over time. When Yi Fengchun transmigrated, the System told her: “Win over Huo Yan, reach 100% affection, marry him, and go home.” Huo Yan is the heir to the Prince of Zhenbei. He was sent away as a hostage when he was young, and is cold and unfeeling. Everyone in the capital knows that pursuing him is like running headfirst into a wall. But Yi Fengchun pursued him for ten years. From the age of seven to sixteen, she went from climbing over the wall to bring him pastries to helping him investigate a military grain scandal on the northern frontier. She thought she was about to succeed. Then Huo Yan personally asked the emperor to arrange his marriage to a daughter of the Shen family, grinding all the kindness she had shown him over ten years to dust. She put away every last hope and only wished to finish playing her part in this love story. The day Huo Yan called off the wedding, snow swept through the city. She had already taken another person's hand. “The performance is over. Let's go home.” He knelt and crushed a jade clasp, calling out to her, “Youyou, I don't want anything anymore. Come back to me.” On the night power changed hands, the Right Chancellor's wife died protecting the Grand Princess, her blood staining the ground. Before long, the Right Chancellor died by his own hand, unable to live without her. Later, when the empress of Great Yan ascended the throne, people praised the splendor of her reign and sang of the Right Chancellor and his wife's deep devotion. An unmarked tombstone stood in an alley beneath locust trees in the eastern part of the city. No one knew whom it commemorated. Only the snowstorms of the northern frontier knew that every spring, an old general came to place a jade clasp before the stone. He did so until he died. Includes a female awakening arc, with no rivalry between women in the traditional sense.
