Animal Informants: A Burned-Out Office Girl's Criminal Investigation Comeback

Lin Wan, an overworked wage slave earning just 4,800 yuan a month, stayed up late reading Tomato novels until she started hallucinating, and somehow became bound to the “All Things Communication System.” A mouse mocked her for being poor, sparrows gossiped about whose spouse was cheating, and a stray dog revealed where stolen goods from a gold shop had been buried. She casually reported what she heard, and ended up solving both an electric scooter theft case and a gold shop cold case. The city bureau hired her on the spot as a criminal investigation consultant, tripling her monthly salary. From then on, every cat, dog, and bug in the city became one of her informants. A serial killer? Just ask the cockroach in your home what it saw last night. Her ex wants to get back together? First, I’ll ask whether my grasshopper approves. Her coworkers don’t believe her? She’ll face-slap them in public by solving a thirty-year-old cold case. The whole internet doubts her? She’ll reason it out on livestream and leave the trolls speechless. Lu Chen goes from suspicion to protecting her, and the two solve cases side by side as the sparks between them fly. But the biggest secret begins to surface with her father’s disappearance twenty years ago…
