Great Tang: Mistaking Someone Else for My Mother, I Become the World’s Overlord

After transmigrating to the Tang Dynasty, Li Chengyuan becomes a descendant of a fallen branch of the family.

He only wants to live comfortably as a wealthy man, but accidentally uncovers a shocking secret: Empress Wu Zetian, the ruthless ruler who holds the entire court in her grip, is actually his birth mother!

A history buff, Li Chengyuan is horrified. She is ruthless enough to kill even her own children without hesitation!

“No way. Chang'an is too dangerous. I have to run!”

To save enough money to flee overseas, Li Chengyuan returns to his remote fief and is forced to race up the technology tree.

He makes a fortune across the land with glass and soap;

He smelts steel and makes gunpowder to build an invincible Divine Machine Battalion;

He builds giant warships and cannons, preparing to go overseas and rule as a local king.

Just as he believes his army is strong enough and prepares to set sail to escape danger,

Wu Zetian, troubled by upheaval at court, travels incognito to his fief. She gazes at the firearms troops stretching across the mountains, the steel fleet blotting out the sky, and the neighboring kingdoms already conquered on the map, and falls into deep contemplation.

Wu Zetian: “Son, I only wanted to usurp the Tang. How did you end up conquering the whole world?”

Li Chengyuan is baffled. “Huh? I was only just about to use this invincible fleet to run away!”
