The Cicadas’ Song All Summer Long

One open admirer + two secret admirers | An intense three-way love triangle

A secret campus crush · A bittersweet push and pull · Realizing it too late

During her three years of high school, three boys found their way into Lin Qingjia’s youth:

One was rebellious and domineering, willing to do anything for her and spoiling her without restraint;

One was gentle and easygoing, listening to Jay Chou with her. He was her best friend and the one whose secret crush ran deepest;

One was thoughtful and patient, tying up her long hair and hiding his love in every pencil sketch.

Everyone knew he liked her. She was the only one who wasn’t sure.

Then a storm forced the boy to leave, leaving nothing behind but an empty seat.

When they meet again, he’s a rising entrepreneur and she’s a well-known writer.

The domineering boy who once acted like a big, bad wolf has become a devoted puppy. Watching the equally outstanding old friend still by her side, he’s eaten up with jealousy.

The emotions he’s kept buried for years finally erupt. “Lin Qingjia, did you forget about me?”

Seeing the bloodshot eyes, Lin Qingjia finally admits it: all those years when she realized her feelings too late had been one whole youth he’d spent crossing mountains and rivers for her.

If youth had a sound, it would surely be Jiang Chen gruffly saying in her ear, “Lin Qingjia, just try talking to him again!”
