Your Majesty, the Noble Consort Doesn’t Love You

From the moment I entered the palace, I was Consort Yun, favored without end.

But I knew the emperor favored me only because of my face. I looked exactly like the woman in his heart, his beloved older sister.

I smiled and murmured softly at his side, but behind his back I gathered evidence of his maternal uncle's crimes.

I thought I was the cleverest hunter, using his devotion to bring down the Zhou family and avenge my own.

Until, before he left to lead a military campaign, he shed every imperial pretense and drew me into his arms:

“Yun'er, I've been waiting for you for a long time.”

It turned out he had known who I was from the start.

It turned out he had never touched a single woman in his harem of three thousand.

It turned out the Zhou family's downfall was a scheme he and I had plotted together.

It turned out his calling me “Wan'er” had only been a test.

Your Majesty, the Noble Consort doesn't love you.

But the Empress does.
