Genshin Impact's Venti: When Time Flows Backward

Genshin Impact + Venti as the protagonist + fan fiction + infinite transmigration

For Mondstadt's future, Venti borrowed the power of the Ruler of Time. During the final battle, he exhausted his divine power to protect Mondstadt and fell into a deep slumber. At this moment, Istaroth decided to switch identities with him, who was on the brink of death, so she could escape Heavenly Principles' reckoning for her betrayal. He agreed, but the instant he took up her authority, an unlikely twist sent him back several thousand years, to the time when the two first met...

Given a second chance, Venti now holds the truth of the world in his hands. He knows everything that is going to happen. With the ability to “foretell,” all he wants is to rewrite one imperfect story after another, giving Teyvat's tales the perfect endings they deserve.

But under the influence of a dark fate, he has no choice but to make certain sacrifices to prevent the Abyss's power from growing stronger.

After meeting the Traveler, Venti chooses to journey alongside her, both to spend his remaining time with her and to set back on course the fates altered by his earlier actions. Their journey is full of mishaps: Zhongli doesn't retire, and Ei's Vision Hunt Decree turns into a Vision Granting Decree. Everything goes haywire. Fortunately, working together, he and the Traveler still make it through Teyvat without a hitch.

But is all of this merely a dream, or is it the Ruler of Time's plan? In the end, can he break through the fourth wall and truly give the story a perfect ending?

There are many pairings in this story; feel free to ship whoever you like. But Venti is the protagonist.

The author has studied Teyvat's history, but Genshin Impact has yet to reveal a great deal, so some of the worldbuilding is the author's own speculation. Please don't mind that.
