Lone Voyage of the Hidden Dragon: The World's Only Underwater Ark

Inspired after watching the TV series The Last Ship. If you enjoy it, come take a look. At thirty, Lin Nan was promoted to navy lieutenant commander and became the first officer aboard the country's only 40,000-ton nuclear submarine. The enormous vessel received a top-secret long-term self-sufficiency test mission: half its weapons and ammunition were to be removed, while its vast ammunition bays, compartments, and spare spaces were packed with enough supplies to sustain the entire crew for a year, along with closed-loop ecological equipment, medical stores, crop seeds, and a complete set of maintenance parts. Besides two hundred elite naval officers and sailors, dozens of civilian researchers from various fields were also assigned to the crew. Their mission was to test whether a large nuclear submarine could survive independently in the deep sea for an extended period. The enormous submarine entered the deep sea and began its submerged trials. Only a few days had passed when all radio frequencies fell completely silent, every satellite link was severed, and not a sound of human activity remained on the surface. After several cautious trips to the surface to investigate, the crew made a horrifying discovery: a global catastrophe had erupted outside. Land-based civilization had collapsed, cities had become nests for grotesque monsters, and the entire world had plunged into the apocalypse. Loaded with supplies, talent, and technology, the 40,000-ton nuclear submarine had unexpectedly become an underwater Noah's Ark in the apocalypse. Panic spread through the vessel as the weak, the conservative, and the radical factions clashed. Above the waves, warlords carved up the land, foreign warships drifted aimlessly, and gigantic mutated sea beasts roamed. As captain, Lin Nan restored order aboard the submarine and steered this deep-sea dragon through the oceans, gathering his fellow countrymen, building up an industrial base, and assembling an ocean-going submarine fleet. Once they were strong enough to return to their homeland, they would eradicate the grotesque scourge, defend China's borders from the depths, and rekindle the spark of human civilization.
