A Seventies-Era Island Restaurant: My Pocket Dimension Has the Whole Military District Drooling

[Torturing Scumbags + Face-Slapping + Gourmet Food + Comeback + Heartwarming]

Everyone on the island was waiting to see Ye Suqing make a fool of herself!

A delicate orphan with two little sisters in tow, she was so poor she could barely afford to eat. And yet she dared to take over the military district’s state-run diner, which was on the verge of closing?

Everyone bet she couldn’t even lift a spatula and would be in tears and gone within three days.

But Ye Suqing, a modern-day seafood chef, didn’t panic in the slightest. Instead, she activated her “Portable Tideland Foraging Space”!

In this resource-poor decade of the 1970s, when even getting a bite of meat was a struggle, she had top-grade abalone in one hand and plump oysters in the other.

The aroma of her secret seafood noodles wafted for miles. Not only did she turn the diner from a failing business into the island’s top seller, she also had the tough soldiers from the military district lining up every day, swallowing their saliva as they waited for a taste.

Even Huo Jiandong, the cold, rugged captain who hated nepotism and always wore a dark expression, began making frequent “patrols” of the diner.

Then one late night, Huo Jiandong cornered her in the empty kitchen. His tall frame loomed over her as he said in a low, restrained voice, “Comrade Ye Suqing, did you put something in this seafood? How come I get so restless when I go a day without eating it, like I’d give my life for you?”

Ye Suqing swung the spatula in her hand and smiled, radiant and alluring. “Captain Huo, settling the food bill is easy. But how are you planning to pay for this ‘heartache’?”
