Horror Stories Descend: This Capitalist Is Scarier Than a Ghost

As the uncanny resurged and the whole internet fought to survive in a desperate last stand, Shang Lu quietly pulled out a copy of the Labor Law.

Bound to the Anomalous Asset Liquidation System, all he has to do is exploit loopholes in the rules of a ghost story to forcibly recruit vengeful spirits as underpaid labor!

A water ghost that knocks on your door in the middle of the night and kills you without fail? The apartment building’s water is already shut off, so hurry up and sign a contract. You’re coming to the factory to tighten screws!

Trapped in the seemingly inescapable Blood Moon Apartments, while veterans watch their SAN plummet under the rules, Shang Lu adjusts his gold-rimmed glasses and begins his cyberpunk reaping spree.

Eyes peering from under the bed? A serious violation of privacy! He turns them into paid mystery boxes. No VIP membership, and he’ll seal them up with cement!

A netherworld accountant demands a century of your remaining lifespan? File for a tax audit and countersue for thirty thousand years’ worth of emotional distress!

The apartment’s Big Boss flies into a rage and launches a full-scale purge?

Shang Lu throws the Bankruptcy Law right back at him, forcing the Big Boss into insolvency. By midnight, the boss is trembling in a janitor’s uniform, scrubbing toilets.

When the government’s suicide squad blows open the door, prepared to die to the last man, they find Shang Lu in a sharp suit, handing them his business card:

“Anomalous Asset Liquidation Company. We handle haunted-house cleaning. Also, you’ll need to pay 2.5 million for the door you blew up. Bank-to-bank transfer only.”

Faced with an S-rank disaster city that has been completely overrun, Shang Lu is ecstatic:

You call that a forbidden zone? It’s a blue-ocean market with no competition!

All ghost employees, grab your gear. The boss is taking you into the city to collect what we’re owed!
