Water Margin: My Family Was Destroyed, So I Turned Around and Flattened Liangshan

In the final years of the Northern Song dynasty, treacherous ministers hold power and chaos reigns.

Gu Yuan was the upright prefect of Qingzhou in the Great Song, serving the people well. But after he threatened the interests of a criminal gang, he became the target of the Liangshan bandits’ savage revenge!

Li Kui, the Black Whirlwind, was sent down the mountain. With one swing of his axe, he cleaved apart Gu Yuan’s four-year-old son. His gentle, virtuous wife, consumed by grief, struck her head against a pillar and died!

A lifetime’s good reputation brought him only a shattered family, and all his fervent ideals were no match for the bandits’ brutality!

Before his wife and child’s funeral hall, Gu Yuan gazed upon their horrific deaths and was utterly consumed by darkness. He bound himself to the [Tyrant’s System for Punishing Evil]!

“You claim to act on Heaven’s behalf, yet you slaughter the innocent and spare not even a four-year-old child?”

“If the laws of the Great Song can’t deal with you, then I, Gu Yuan, will!”

“If all the gods in Heaven can’t take you, then I, Gu Yuan, will!”

From the start, he issues a nationwide arrest warrant and lays a vast, inescapable trap. He captures Li Kui alive and has him executed by lingchi in the street: three thousand three hundred and fifty-seven cuts, not one fewer!

Wu Yong, the Resourceful Star? I’ll let you scheme until you lose your reputation and end up torn apart by five horses!

Song Jiang, the Timely Rain? I’ll rip off your mask of hypocrisy and make you watch as Liangshan Marsh is reduced to scorched earth!

After executing Li Kui, Gu Yuan becomes the living King of Hell of the Great Song.

He reforms the civil service and crushes the court with an iron fist. He establishes a secret network, sending three thousand death warriors to scourge the bandit underworld!

He crushes Liangshan, destroys Fang La, executes Cai Jing, and resists the Jin and Liao!

See how Gu Yuan fights violence with violence, carving a path to imperial power through the corpses of the One Hundred and Eight Liangshan heroes!
