Synopsis

Liang Qingge, a master’s graduate in agricultural science, opens her eyes to find herself in a band of refugees fleeing famine.

Her mother-in-law makes her drink a bowl of wild-herb porridge, and a prompt appears before her eyes:

[Japanese poinsettia: highly toxic, can be fatal.]

She spits it all over her mother-in-law, then looks up at the wild plants covering the mountainside.

To her, they aren’t weeds at all. They’re food, medicine, and the means to survive.

While others are so hungry they chew tree bark, she makes soup from amaranth for her daughter.

While others lie sick and wait to die, she pulls them back from the brink with a handful of dandelion roots.

The village head treats her like a treasure, while her mother-in-law treats her like an enemy.

Then one day, she finds a half-dead man by the roadside.

When he wakes up, he says he’s a hunter.

Liang Qingge looks at the calluses on his hands and the knife wounds on his body, then sneers.

“A hunter? You’ve killed more people than game, haven’t you?”

Later, bandits raid the camp, and the man takes their leader’s head with one stroke.

Later still, a wealthy landowner demands rent, and the man leads troops to raze his estate.

The villagers kneel and call him “General.” He turns to Liang Qingge.

“Now you know who I am.”

Liang Qingge plants her hoe in the ground.

“I don’t care who you are. The potatoes in this field need harvesting in three days. Lend me your soldiers to dig them up first.”

This is a story about fleeing famine, and a story about farming.

It is the story of a woman changing her fate with knowledge, and of a general protecting the one he loves with unwavering loyalty.

From a single patch of wasteland to granaries stretching for thousands of miles, Qingge’s story begins.

GB Novels with a Strong, Cool-Headed Female Lead Who Keeps Her Emotions in Check

I'm looking for books like "What's So Great About Transmigrating Into a Book? My Wife Has All Kinds of Tricks". I want a female lead who's emotionally stable, strong, and level-headed. No one who can't communicate and treats everything with indifference. In short, like the domineering CEO from "The Grand Mansion Closed" earlier.

GB Fans, You're in Luck!! Highly Recommend This One 😍😍

Looking for a book similar to GB: I Won't Cross-Dress as a Man, Even If It Feels Uncomfortable (I've Heard There's a Breeze in the Human World). This GB novel is so good! The heroine is bold and devoted, and the male lead is adorable and sweet. The plot is so exciting, and their interactions are so flirtatious. Any sisters have similar recommendations?
