Siheyuan: From the Start, I’m Set Up and Get Tenfold Compensation

He Yuzhu is the head chef in the steel mill cafeteria, the best cook in the whole factory, yet his lot in life ranks near the bottom of the whole courtyard.

Xu Damao steals his meat coupons, Third Master cheats him out of shared expenses, and Jia Zhangshi barges in to snatch his braised pork.

First Master tells him to be more magnanimous, while Second Master says he lacks proper awareness.

Everyone in the courtyard takes him for a sucker.

Then, on the twenty-third day of the twelfth lunar month, his meat coupons for half a month are stolen clean away.

A “Sucker’s Ledger” opens in his mind.

It has just one rule: whenever someone takes advantage of him, the System compensates him up to tenfold.

Xu Damao steals two jin of meat coupons? He gets five jin of premium meat, plus a secret recipe for top-grade braised pork.

Third Master cheats him out of his share of the expenses? He gets a pair of eyes that can see through account books.

Jia Zhangshi swindles him out of one yuan? Nine yuan in cash arrives that very day.

He Yuzhu looks at the densely packed settlement records in the ledger and grins.

He turns to look at his calculating neighbors, his gaze exceptionally warm.

“Come on, keep taking advantage of me. Don’t be shy.”

By the time the whole courtyard catches on, Silly Zhu is long gone.

But now they want to stop, they find they can’t.
