On My First Day Out of Prison, I Took Thirty Minions to Film a Gangster Movie

Han Rui transmigrates into the body of a newly released “CEO of the Prison,” with thirty underlings who can’t even scrape together enough for hot pot.

Other people transmigrate with a golden finger. He transmigrated with connections to an entire prison: the lead actor is a three-year robbery convict, the lighting technician has been inside five times, and the makeup artist was blacklisted across the internet for refusing to play along with unspoken rules.

He decides to make Young and Dangerous, casting his underlings as gangsters.

Crow smashes someone’s hand for real in his very first scene. Han Rui says, “Take him to the hospital. We’re keeping that footage.”

Eight hundred special police officers surround the set. Captain Xia yells, “Don’t move!” Han Rui pulls out a USB drive. “We’re making a movie.”

After watching it, Captain Xia falls silent for three minutes. “...That blood is real?”

Han Rui says, “Nine yuan and ninety-nine, with free shipping on Pinduoduo. Want the link?”

The most outrageous member of the crew is Wu Yingjun. After hearing him play “Für Elise,” he immediately wants to sell his house and join the production. “Director, I don’t need a salary. I’ll pay you!”

Han Rui: I’m here to make movies, not run a charity shelter.
