Warnings: Lots of original worldbuilding, a setting where same-sex marriage is legal, no trigger warnings. It includes many elements: the shou forces the gong, the gong forces the shou, imprisonment, running away, the gong’s long road to winning back his wife, and a nontraditional version of that trope! Some of these may not appear until later, so don’t read if that bothers you.
The main characters aren’t perfect. I won’t accept writing advice; I have my own pace. If possible, please don’t insult anyone. Let’s all be nice.
