The Candy Girl

Su Nian'an always has candy in her pocket. Thirteen years old, in her first year of middle school, ranked seventh in her class. She's neither at the top nor the bottom, just the kind of girl whose full name the teacher can't remember and whose classmates know only as “that girl with the candy.” Her mother says she needs to work harder. Her father says she shouldn't push herself too hard. Caught between them, she used to say “I'm fine” to everyone. A new semester, a new deskmate, new friends, and a boy in a white jacket at the end of the hallway. The days melt away one by one, like the candy in her pocket, sweet with just a hint of sour. This is a school story about candy, exams, young love, and growing up. It's for everyone who ever hid a secret in their desk drawer. A new story from an independent author. Please show your support!
